Dr. Goldfoot and the Bikini Machine is a super fun picture. The performance by Sam & The Ape Men is a big part of that vibe. It definitely left a lasting impression on me. I’d love to read some of your recollections on the performance, production, and just the scene at that point in time.

I’d also like to take this belated opportunity to express my sadness at the passing of Annette Funicello earlier this month. I’ll probably cover her appearances in Ski Party and Fireball 500 at some point on this site, but she was really the total package. Nowadays, you can be famous for being famous, but Annette was a true singing, dancing, and acting triple threat. She’ll be sorely missed.
